Overview

• Halifax Regional Police responded around 5:50 p.m. Friday to a report of an assault involving weapons on Intercolonial Street.
• Before officers arrived, additional reports indicated that shots had been fired in the area.
• All participants fled the scene but were quickly located, and five people were taken into custody.
• One person was transported to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
• Intercolonial Street, Hood Street and part of Kempt Road remain closed as evidence is collected, no charges have been laid, and investigators are seeking tips at 902-490-5020 or via Nova Scotia Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477).
