• Magnolia Pictures released the first official trailer for Amy Berg’s documentary It’s Never Over, Jeff Buckley on July 16, 2025.
• The trailer features rare archival footage and new interviews with Buckley’s mother Mary Guibert, former partners Rebecca Moore and Joan Wasser, bandmates and musicians including Aimee Mann and Ben Harper.
• It highlights haunting archival quotes from Buckley on his own mortality, such as “Because when I’m dead, that’s the only thing that’ll be around.”
• Director Amy Berg first approached Buckley’s family in 2007 and secured their cooperation in 2019 to create the first authorized portrait of the late singer’s life.
• The documentary will open in U.S. theaters on August 8, 2025, and premiere on HBO and stream on HBO Max in winter 2025.
