Overview
- Around 6:12 a.m. on Dec. 25, Stoughton police responded to a labor call on Glen Echo Boulevard and found a woman ready to deliver in the backseat of a car.
- Sgt. Albert Medeiros assisted the birth while Officer Daisy Guzman coached the mother to push, resulting in a healthy baby boy at 6:17 a.m.
- According to the department, Medeiros cleared the newborn’s mouth and nose, placed him on his mother’s abdomen, and stimulated a cry.
- Mother and infant were transported by ambulance to Boston Medical Center–South in Brockton, where officials said both were doing well.
- Armstrong Ambulance reported a separate Christmas morning delivery in Medford by EMT crews, who announced the arrival of a baby boy.
