Overview
- NHSRCL completed the first rail level slab casting at Boisar station, measuring approximately 40 metres by 37 metres and using over 1,070 cubic metres of concrete as the first of nine foundations for track installation.
- The under-construction station will span 425 metres in length with roughly 17,000 square metres of built-up area and a 6,000-square-metre concourse.
- Builders will use about 8,000 metric tonnes of steel and 42,000 cubic metres of concrete to complete the two-level structure.
- Designers drew inspiration from traditional Konkani fishing nets to create a façade that reflects local architectural heritage.
- Upon opening, Boisar station will link Vadhvan Port, Boisar and Tarapur industrial zones, the Tarapur Atomic Power Station, nearby beaches and waterfalls while offering modern passenger amenities including lounges, waiting rooms, lifts, escalators and shops.
