Star-Studded Cast Wraps Filming in Italy for 'William Tell,' a Dramatization of the Legendary Rebel's Fight Against 14th Century Tyranny

The Nick Hamm-directed film 'William Tell' is in its last week of principal photography in Italy; first look images of the film, featuring Claes Bang in the title role, have been released.
The film, adapted from Friedrich Schiller’s play, unfolds in the 14th century amid the waning days of the Holy Roman Empire; it traces the rebellion led by William Tell against Austrian encroachment on Switzerland.
Alongside Claes Bang, the cast includes Connor Swindells, Ellie Bamber, Golshifteh Farahani, Jonah Hauer-King, Rafe Spall, Emily Beecham, Academy-Award nominees Jonathan Pryce and Ben Kingsley.
Nick Hamm underscores the contemporary relevance of the story, especially the iconic apple scene which has never been dramatized in modern cinema.
