First Land Registry Completed for Bankey Bihari Temple Corridor in Vrindavan

Officials say a Supreme Court‑mandated panel coordinated the sale to clear the path for subsequent registrations, paving the way for construction planning.

Overview

  • A 69.26 square metre portion of Property No. 25 in Biharipura was registered in favour of the tehsildar (sadar) for the corridor project.
  • The sale deed was executed by Goswami family members Yati Goswami, Abhilash Goswami and Aniket Goswami.
  • The registry was completed through joint efforts of the Mathura district administration and a High Powered Management Committee constituted on Supreme Court directions and chaired by retired judge Ashok Kumar.
  • Officials say the committee has consulted Goswamis, sevayats, traders and local residents to integrate suggestions while aiming to preserve Vrindavan’s sanctity with modern amenities.
  • Plans cited by authorities include safer access, seating, drinking water and improved entry and exit points, with expectations of a tourism boost and priority facilities for those who voluntarily provide land.
