First German-Born Pandas Sent to China from Berlin Zoo

Pit and Paule, the first giant pandas born in Germany, have been sent to China from the Berlin Zoo.
The pandas' journey was delayed by the COVID-19 pandemic.
They will spend 30 days in quarantine at the Chengdu Panda Base.
Their return to China was contractually agreed from the start, as part of China's policy of loaning pandas to zoos on commercial terms.
Pit and Paule's parents, Jiao Qing and Meng Meng, are expected to remain in Berlin for another nine years.
