First Federal Units Arrive in Michoacán as ‘Plan Michoacán por la Paz y la Justicia’ Begins

  • National Guard units reached Morelia after midday, reporting to the 21st Military Zone, with Army troops and Guardia Civil scheduled for a 2 p.m. rollout.
  • The plan deploys up to 10,506 Army and National Guard personnel across local, containment and reinforcement roles, plus 1,781 Navy elements.
  • A 4,140-person border containment effort will work with Colima, Jalisco, Querétaro, Guanajuato, Estado de México and Guerrero to limit criminal movement.
