Overview

  • Fernando Villén, former director of the defunct Faffe foundation, was sentenced to three years and six months in prison, along with multi-year disqualifications for public office, for corruption and misuse of public funds.
  • Antonio Torres, ex-mayor of Lebrija, received a two-year and three-month prison sentence for his role as a beneficiary of an illegal, politically motivated hire.
  • The court found that Villén created a non-existent role, 'Dirección de Relaciones Externas,' to justify Torres's employment, despite no work being performed or office existing for the position.
  • Both Villén and Torres were ordered to repay €359,973.51 to the Junta de Andalucía, equivalent to the amount Torres received during his fraudulent employment.
  • This marks the first judicial ruling against systemic 'enchufismo' within Faffe, with the verdict open to appeal before the Tribunal Superior de Justicia de Andalucía.
