Overview
- The first of 10 electric trains was presented at Alstom’s Santa Perpètua de Mogoda plant, with dynamic validation on the factory rails now underway.
- FGC will run the service over Adif infrastructure rather than Renfe, a first for an FGC operation on newly built Adif tracks.
- The 22.7‑kilometre line will serve nine stops—Sant Andreu, Sagrera, El Clot, Passeig de Gràcia, Sants, Bellvitge, El Prat, Aeroport T2 and Aeroport T1—with about 19–20 minutes from Passeig de Gràcia to T1 and 15‑minute frequency.
- Adif expects to finish the works by late 2025, enabling on‑network trials in summer 2026 and passenger service targeted for late 2026 or early 2027.
- FGC’s €107 million order for 10 trains includes a €70 million maintenance program, with step‑free access, 10 doors per side, capacity for 656 passengers and onboard real‑time flight information screens.
