First Alice in Wonderland Anime Movie Announced with August 2025 Release

P.A. Works' adaptation aims to stay faithful to Lewis Carroll's original novel, departing from Disney's influence.

The anime film, titled 'Alice in Wonderland -Dive in Wonderland-', will premiere in Japan on August 29, 2025, with no international release date confirmed yet.
This marks the first anime movie adaptation of Lewis Carroll's 1865 classic, though there have been previous anime series and projects inspired by the story.
Directed by Toshiya Shinohara and scripted by Yuko Kakihara, the film will feature a unique paper art-inspired visual style by animation studio P.A. Works.
Nanoka Hara voices a new character named Rise, while 10-year-old Maika Pugh takes on the role of Alice in the film.
Fans are hopeful the adaptation will prioritize the darker, philosophical undertones of Carroll's novel, diverging from the sanitized Disney portrayal.
