A 37-year-old man ignited a firework and held it in his hand during a private dart tournament in Rastow, Mecklenburg-Vorpommern, causing an explosion.
The man suffered severe injuries to his fingertips, while another attendee sustained serious hearing damage; both required surgery.
Seven additional individuals, aged 19 to 37, experienced minor hearing injuries as a result of the explosion.
All those involved were reportedly under the influence of alcohol at the time of the incident.
Police are investigating the case for violations of the Explosives Act and dangerous bodily harm.
