Historical thriller 'Firebrand', starring Alicia Vikander and Jude Law, has been acquired by Roadside Attractions and Vertical for U.S. distribution.
The film, directed by Karim Aïnouz, is based on the historical novel 'Queen’s Gambit' by Elizabeth Fremantle and focuses on the life of Katherine Parr, the last wife of King Henry VIII.
The film is set to have an exclusive theatrical release on June 21, 2024.
The script for 'Firebrand' was written by Henrietta Ashworth and Jessica Ashworth, with additional writing by Rosanne Flynn.
The film was nominated for the Palme d’Or at this year’s Cannes Film Festival.
