Overview
- At around 10:00 a.m., a car-carrier truck stopped on the A-23 shoulder near Cariñena and caught fire in its trailer
- Flames originating at the rear of the trailer consumed six of the nine electric vehicles while the truck’s cab remained intact
- Fire consortium units and the Civil Guard arrived to battle the blaze, fully extinguishing it after about two hours
- Two eastbound lanes were blocked during firefighting operations, resulting in long traffic queues on the summer getaway corridor
- The driver experienced heat exposure and was treated on site, but no serious injuries were reported
