Fire Crews in Parker Free Foster Mastiff Trapped in Construction Trench

Overview

  • Carl, a Neapolitan Mastiff in a foster program with Big Dogs Huge Paws, disappeared from his Parker home near South Parker Road and Stroh Road on June 22.
  • He was found the following afternoon about eight feet down in a trench at the intersection of South Parker Road and North Pinery Parkway.
  • Crews used shovels, pickaxes and an excavator to carefully remove soil and pull Carl to safety.
  • After the rescue, Carl was taken to a veterinary emergency room where he recovered overnight from mild dehydration.
  • He has since returned to his foster home with Big Dogs Huge Paws and is expected to make a full recovery.
