Fire Breaks Out on Passenger Ship on the Rhine, All Evacuated Safely

A pre-dawn fire aboard a Rhine river cruise ship near Speyer caused significant damage but resulted in no injuries among the 192 people on board.

The fire started around 4:00 a.m. in the machine room of a passenger ship traveling on the Rhine near Speyer, Germany.
All 150 passengers and 42 crew members were safely evacuated, with no injuries reported.
Emergency services, including 50 firefighters, 20 vehicles, and a multi-purpose boat, worked to extinguish the fire and ensure safety.
Passengers were temporarily sheltered at a local restaurant and later transported to their next destination by bus.
The fire caused an estimated half a million euros in damages, and the ship is set to be towed to a nearby harbor for further inspection.
