Fire at South Korean Commercial Building Triggers Major Rescue Operation

Over 300 people were evacuated or rescued from an eight-story building in Seongnam, with no serious injuries reported so far.

A fire broke out in a restaurant on the ground floor of an eight-story commercial and residential building in Seongnam, South Korea, on Friday afternoon.
Thick black smoke engulfed the building, prompting the deployment of over 260 firefighters and 80 fire vehicles to control the blaze.
Emergency responders rescued approximately 240 people, while another 70 individuals managed to evacuate the building on their own.
Twelve people were hospitalized for smoke inhalation, and 28 sustained minor injuries, but no serious injuries or fatalities have been reported.
Authorities are continuing to investigate the cause of the fire, which was extinguished about 90 minutes after it began.
