Overview
- Eight fire appliances from Northallerton, Bedale, Thirsk, Stokesley, Ripon, Richmond and Darlington responded around 4:30pm on Gaskell Close in the Standard Way Industrial Estate.
- Firefighters deployed eight breathing apparatus sets, two hose reel jets, two main jets and an aerial ladder platform to bring the incident under control.
- One industrial unit was destroyed, another sustained about 10 square metres of fire damage with smoke logging, and a further unit was smoke logged.
- One person was taken to hospital, and crews from Northallerton remain on site today to monitor the scene.
- Residents have been advised to keep doors and windows closed and to avoid the area, and the cause of the fire is under investigation.
