Overview
- Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service was called just after 4pm on Friday to a commercial building on Thicketford Road near the Tonge Moor Road junction.
- Firefighters used breathing apparatus, four hose reel jets, lighting equipment and breaking-in gear, remaining at the scene for around two hours.
- Two people were treated at the scene for smoke inhalation, according to local reporting.
- A cordon was established as thick smoke affected surrounding streets and police managed traffic in the area.
- The affected business was reported locally to be the Donner 24 takeaway, and Electricity North West attended as power was cut, disrupting a nearby Halloween event.
