FIR Filed Against Kandivali Couple in Alleged Rs 48.5 Lakh Loan–Property–School Admissions Scam

Police say the alleged scheme involved repeated cash payments over several months.

  • Payments were allegedly taken between September 2023 and January 2024 during meetings across Mumbai, including Dadar, Shivaji Park, Mahalaxmi and Sion.
  • According to the complaint, sums included about Rs 10 lakh for a promised Rs 1–2 crore loan, Rs 3 lakh plus Rs 1.5 lakh for IT paperwork, Rs 14.5 lakh for MHADA shops near Borivli Metro, and Rs 15 lakh for school admissions.
  • The FIR cites IPC sections for cheating, criminal breach of trust and criminal intimidation, and police say an investigation is underway, with one report noting cheques later issued to the complainant allegedly bounced.
