Overview
- Four men aged 20, 32, 35 and 45 from Kampen, Lelystad and Utrecht were taken into custody, all linked to the car trade.
- Investigators conducted searches at six homes and two business premises in Lelystad, Hilversum, Waddinxveen, Bergambacht and Utrecht after a tip from the Belastingdienst.
- Seizures included 44 vehicles, administrative records, phones, computers, cash, bank accounts, one bitcoin and 20 luxury watches.
- Authorities suspect companies used falsified appraisal reports listing non‑existent damage to lower BPM on imported vehicles in dozens to possibly hundreds of filings.
- The FIOD estimates many millions in underpaid BPM and €2–3 million in missing VAT, and further arrests are not ruled out.
