Finnish Hockey Star Janne Puhakka Murdered by Partner

The first openly gay professional hockey player in Finland was shot by his estranged partner amid a breakup.

Janne Puhakka, 29, was found dead in his Espoo home, allegedly shot by his 66-year-old partner, Rolf Nordmo.
The Finnish police have arrested Nordmo, who has confessed to the killing, which is being treated as murder.
The motive for the crime is believed to be the end of the couple's relationship, which had recently dissolved.
Puhakka was a prominent figure in both the hockey community and LGBTQ+ activism, having come out publicly in 2019.
The murder has led to the postponement of the finale of 'Petolliset,' a Finnish reality show Puhakka was part of.
