Finch West LRT Shut Down for Second Day After Heavy Snow

Metrolinx attributes the closure to weather-related track clearing, denying that city plowing was to blame.

Overview

  • The TTC reports no service Friday between Finch West and Humber College stations, with shuttle buses replacing trains.
  • Shuttle buses are not stopping at Driftwood, Tobermory and Sentinel due to blocked roadways, according to TTC alerts.
  • The suspension follows a multi-day storm that dropped roughly 40 centimetres of snow on Toronto.
  • Metrolinx says crews are clearing the guideway to restore operations and maintains the City of Toronto’s plowing did not cause the shutdown.
  • The TTC says there is no estimated time for service restoration and notes issues with switches and vehicles, extending a series of outages since the line’s December launch.
