Lucas Glover and Leona Maguire, as well as Denny McCarthy and Megan Khang, are tied in second place with a score of 57.
Sahith Theegala and Rose Zhang, Nick Taylor and Angel Yin, Justin Rose and Charley Hull, and Jason Day and Lydia Ko all scored 58.
The tournament will continue with foursomes on Saturday and conclude with fourballs on Sunday.
