Overview

• Navjot Singh, a Deputy Secretary in the Finance Ministry, died after his motorcycle was struck near Metro Pillar 67 on the Dhaula Kuan–Delhi Cantt stretch.
• Police said three people were injured, including Singh’s wife, while the BMW’s woman driver and her husband were also hospitalised with injuries.
• Eyewitnesses reported the car hit the motorcycle from behind, and the couple in the BMW took the injured to a hospital in a taxi; their statements are pending.
• Officers seized the BMW and the motorcycle, a crime team and Forensic Science Laboratory experts inspected the scene, and an FIR is being registered.
• Traffic on Ring Road was disrupted for a period and later restored after the damaged vehicles were removed, police said.
