- Navjot Singh, a deputy secretary in the Finance Ministry’s Department of Economic Affairs, died after a collision near Metro pillar 67 between Dhaula Kuan and Delhi Cantonment, police said.
- Eyewitnesses told police a woman was driving the BMW that struck Singh’s motorcycle from behind as his wife rode pillion.
- The couple was taken to Nuelife Hospital in GTB Nagar, and Singh’s son questioned why they were transported far from the crash site instead of to a nearer facility.
- The BMW driver and her husband, identified by police as Gurugram residents, were also injured and remain hospitalised with their statements pending.
- Delhi Police seized both vehicles, called in the crime team and Forensic Science Laboratory, restored traffic after clearance, and said an FIR is being registered as part of the probe.
