Final Suspect in Aurora Edge at Lowry Kidnapping Extradited to Colorado

Overview

  • Jorman Jose Cuba-Zabala, 26, was booked into the Arapahoe County Jail on Oct. 4 and is held on a $250,000 bond.
  • A preliminary hearing is set for Friday morning in Arapahoe County Court, according to court records.
  • He was arrested in Chicago on April 28 after a shoplifting call and faced a felony retail theft count involving two pairs of sunglasses valued at over $800.
  • Aurora’s warrant charges him with four counts of second-degree kidnapping, four counts of aggravated robbery, two counts of menacing with a deadly weapon and two counts of extortion.
  • Police say the Dec. 17, 2024 attack targeted a Venezuelan couple at the now-closed complex, with several suspects linked to the Tren de Aragua gang, and the investigation remains open with tips sought through Metro Denver Crime Stoppers.
