Overview

  • The Bailey estate unveiled the 15th and final Saints studio album, due November 28 via Fire Records, one day before what would have been Bailey’s 69th birthday.
  • Two songs are available now: the lead track Empires (Sometimes We Fall) and the upbeat Break Away, marking the band’s first new music in 13 years.
  • The material was cut at Sydney’s Church Street Studios with producer-guitarist Sean Carey, longtime drummer Pete Wilkinson and You Am I’s Davey Lane.
  • Carey and Wilkinson praised Bailey’s performances, saying the sessions revealed a new depth to his voice and that he “saved the best until last.”
  • As the release is announced, founding members Ed Kuepper and Ivor Hay continue with the legally distinct The Saints ’73–’78 project, which has Australian dates in October and North American and European shows in November.
