Final NOAA GOES-R Satellite to Launch with Enhanced Solar Monitoring

GOES-U, the last in NOAA's GOES-R series, will improve space weather forecasting with a new Compact Coronagraph.

GOES-U is set to launch on June 25 from NASA’s Kennedy Space Center on a SpaceX Falcon Heavy rocket.
The satellite's Compact Coronagraph will provide rapid imagery of the sun's outer layer, enhancing space weather prediction.
GOES-U will replace GOES-16 in the GOES-East orbital slot, offering upgraded weather and space weather monitoring.
