Final Manhattanhenge of 2024 to Illuminate NYC This Weekend
New Yorkers and tourists can witness the last alignment of the setting sun with Manhattan's street grid on July 12 and 13.
- Full Manhattanhenge occurs at 8:20 p.m. ET on July 12, with a half Manhattanhenge at 8:21 p.m. ET on July 13.
- Best viewing spots include 14th, 23rd, 34th, 42nd, and 57th Streets, Tudor City Overpass, and Hunter's Point South Park.
- The phenomenon, named by Neil deGrasse Tyson, aligns the sun with Manhattan's grid only twice a year.
- Crowds are expected, so arriving at least 30 minutes early is recommended for the best view.
- Rain may obscure the view on Friday, but clearer skies are forecast for Saturday.
