Overview
- Co-owners Joseph Wallace and Robert Lemons, who bought the bar in July 2024, began the renovation in February after operating it open for eight months.
- The overhaul moved the bar back about six feet, added banquette seating and 18 new TVs, and renovated the bathrooms to improve capacity and sightlines.
- Sports memorabilia, pool tables, dart boards, the iconic sidewalk slab, and complimentary popcorn were preserved, with a new pennant-shaped neon sign added.
- A refreshed cocktail list developed with Scott Baird features a house bloody mary with a beer sidecar, a lemon drop, and a John Daly, with a revamped food program led by chef Paul Toxqui launching later this fall.
- The bar at 2990 Baker St. will open daily with late hours, including until 2 a.m. on Thursdays, Fridays, and Saturdays, continuing a legacy dating to 1934 that drew patrons like Joe DiMaggio, Klay Thompson, and Tim Lincecum.
