- Director Naoki Yoshida unveiled the overhaul during Letter from the Producer Live LXXXIX that detailed Patch 7.4 "Into the Mist."
- Players will be able to apply any armor appearance across classes and levels via the glamour system, ending long-standing restrictions.
- Weapons and crafting or gathering tools remain restricted to their corresponding jobs due to equip rules and animation constraints.
- Patch 7.4 adds new content such as the Into the Mist main scenario, the Mistwake dungeon, the Hell on Rails trial, the Arcadion Heavyweight Tier (Normal) raid, and new UI color themes.
- Square Enix set the near-term schedule at Patch 7.38 on November 11 and the Arcadion Heavyweight Tier (Savage) on January 6, 2026, following the 7.4 release.
