- Beneficiaries with birthdays on the 21st through 31st are scheduled to be paid on Wednesday, Dec. 24, according to the SSA calendar.
- The month’s earlier waves were issued Dec. 10 for birthdays 1–10 and Dec. 17 for birthdays 11–20 under the standard Wednesday schedule.
- If a payment does not show up on the expected date, the SSA advises waiting up to three working mail-delivery days before contacting the agency.
- Benefits will increase by 2.8% starting in January 2026, adding about $56 per month on average, with the maximum monthly benefit projected to rise from $5,108 to $5,251.
- SSI follows a separate timetable, with the check for January 2026 scheduled to be paid on Wednesday, Dec. 31, 2025.
