Final AG-59 Stretch Breaks Ground at O Rollo With Full Link Targeted for 2028

The near-complete A Ramallosa–Pontevea section is now slated to open in March or April 2026.

Overview

  • Crews began earth-moving at O Rollo for the final 4 km, starting with the roundabout connection to the PO-841.
  • Work sequencing will alternate across fronts as early tasks proceed, from drainage and cut-and-fill to tree felling and geotechnical checks.
  • The Ulla River bridge is planned for low-water summer operations in 2026, with a fallback window in summer 2027 if needed.
  • The section will carry two viaducts over the Ulla and Vea, plus one overpass and four underpasses along the alignment.
  • The phase is budgeted at about €31 million, lifting the A Ramallosa–A Estrada outlay to roughly €67 million, with overall completion projected for October 2028.
