Fiji Police Charge Man with Rape of Virgin Australia Crew Member

A man in Fiji has been charged with the rape and sexual assault of a 21-year-old Virgin Australia crew member in the early hours of January 1.
The alleged incident took place in the nightclub area of Martintar, Nadi, as the victim was separated from her group while returning to her hotel.
Two other Virgin Australia crew members were also reportedly victims of robbery that same night, with one sustaining facial injuries; no charges have been filed for these incidents yet.
Fiji's Acting Police Commissioner confirmed the suspect is a local and that he will appear in Nadi Magistrates Court on Monday.
Fiji’s Minister for Tourism acknowledged the incident as regrettable, emphasizing plans to enhance security measures in tourist areas like Nadi.
