Overview
- The new additions bring the digital collection to 60 songs in English, Spanish, Portuguese and French.
- Selections span traditions, including a Tongan hymn, a German children’s song, and African American spirituals such as “Stand by Me” and “Go Tell It on the Mountain.”
- President Russell M. Nelson’s “Our Prayer to Thee” first appeared in 2003 in the Ensign, uses music by Joseph Parry, and was arranged by Mack Wilberg for Tabernacle Choir performances in 2018 and 2022.
- The Church will add a playlist feature to the Gospel Library app in October 2025 and plans to retire the Sacred Music app in January 2026 with playlist syncing for logged-in users.
- Leaders say each hymn is doctrinally reviewed and selected with children and youth in mind, and members are invited to begin using the songs at home and in worship.
