Overview

  • Former branch manager Vijaykumar Mohanrao Miriyala recruited locksmiths, electronics specialists and insiders to plan the elaborate burglary over several months.
  • Perpetrators studied YouTube tutorials and films to learn lock-picking, CCTV disabling and gold-melting methods before executing the May 23–25 raid.
  • Diversion tactics included fake keys, ragdolls smeared with vermilion and chili powder to mislead sniffer dogs and shift suspicion to other regions.
  • Recovered items comprise 39 kg of melted gold bars, ₹1.16 crore in casino-deposited cash, five vehicles and tools such as gas cylinders and walkie-talkies.
  • Multi-state police teams led by Vijayapura authorities continue probing to recover remaining valuables and apprehend any fugitives.
