FIFA Says 1 Million 2026 World Cup Tickets Sold as Public Sales Start Oct. 27

Demand spans 212 countries, with an official resale platform now live to curb invalid resales.

  • FIFA reported surpassing one million tickets sold in the Visa presale, with buyers led by residents of the United States, Canada and Mexico, followed by England, Germany, Brazil, Spain, Colombia, Argentina and France.
  • The first public sales phase opens Oct. 27, offering single-match tickets plus venue- and team-specific packages, and FIFA has activated its official ticket resale platform.
  • A total of 28 teams have qualified so far; the United States, Canada and Mexico are automatically in as hosts.
  • The expanded tournament will feature 48 teams in 12 groups of four for 104 matches across 16 cities from June 11 to July 19, with the final in New Jersey.
  • FIFA says future allocations include additional lottery windows and first-come sales, dynamic pricing will apply, and the group-stage draw is planned for Dec. 5 in Washington, D.C.
