FIFA Ruling Allows Tottenham to Acquire Shakhtar Star Solomon for Free

Shakhtar Donetsk CEO Sergei Palkin hopes to reach an agreement with Tottenham Hotspur over the transfer of Manor Solomon.
Solomon, 23, is close to joining Tottenham on a five-year contract after impressing while on loan at Fulham.
FIFA ruled that foreign players based in Ukraine or Russia can suspend their contracts for another year, allowing Solomon to become available on a free transfer.
Palkin plans to discuss a potential fee for Solomon when Shakhtar Donetsk face Tottenham in a friendly on August 6.
Shakhtar estimates that FIFA's ruling may cost them up to €80 million in lost transfer revenue.
