FIFA Imposes Global Ban on Marc Overmars Following Misconduct at Ajax

The extension of the ban comes after the Royal Netherlands Football Association's request, leaving Overmars with an option to appeal.

Marc Overmars, former director of football at Ajax, has been handed a global ban by FIFA, extending his suspension from Dutch football.
The ban follows Overmars' inappropriate behaviour towards several female colleagues at Ajax, which led to his departure from the club in February 2022.
The Instituut Sportrechtspraak (ISR), the Netherlands’ disciplinary committee for sports federations, initially imposed a two-year ban, one year of which was suspended.
The Royal Netherlands Football Association (KNVB) requested FIFA to extend the sanction globally, which has now been confirmed.
Overmars, who is currently the technical director at Belgian side Royal Antwerp, has the option to appeal against FIFA's sanction.
