FIFA considers ending Russia's ban from international football

FIFA is debating allowing Russian teams back into international football competitions.
The ban was instituted after Russia invaded Ukraine in February 2022.
FIFA sees recent decisions by UEFA to allow Russia in youth competitions as justification.
A FIFA Council meeting in October 2023 may decide to end the blanket ban.
This would allow Russia to participate if they qualify for Under-17 World Cups.
