Overview
- The MoU, announced June 10, 2026, formally recognises FIFPRO as the global union for professional players and awards the union seats on the FIFA Council and on key legal and judicial committees.
- Under the agreement FIFPRO will withdraw current lawsuits against FIFA and has urged its members to distance themselves from the separate Justice for Players class action.
- The pact creates a Global Social Dialogue Platform chaired by FIFA where player representatives, clubs and leagues must reach collective agreement before changing the global transfer system, mandatory rest periods or welfare standards.
- A $20 million salary-assistance fund for 2026–2029 and a plan to set global minimum standards for women's national teams are included as immediate protections for players.
