FIFA Adds $60 Ticket Tier for 2026 World Cup After Pricing Outcry

Supporters say the tiny pool of discounted seats leaves affordability problems unresolved.

Overview

  • The new Supporter Entry Tier offers $60 tickets for all 104 matches, including the final, limited to 10% of each Participating Member Association’s allocation and distributed by national federations to loyal fans.
  • Independent estimates suggest roughly 1,000 tickets per match in this tier, or about 1.6–2% of total inventory, leaving only a few hundred discounted seats per team and fueling criticism from fan groups.
  • FIFA says half of each PMA allocation will fall into the most affordable buckets—40% in a Supporter Value Tier and 10% in the new entry tier—with the remainder split between Standard and Premier tiers.
  • Citing roughly 20 million ticket requests in the current ballot phase, FIFA also pledged to waive administrative fees on refunds for PMA applicants whose teams do not reach the knockouts.
  • Earlier price tables showed the cheapest final tickets at about $4,185, and Football Supporters Europe estimated that following a team through the final would cost at least $6,900 under the prior structure.
