• Fiete, a Standard dachshund from Tornesch, won in 5.6 seconds after two photo-finish reruns.
• Frieda, a Kaninchen/Zwerg dachshund from Ludwigsfelde, claimed the small-dog division title.
• Each of the 220 entrants raced a 40-meter track under a dual-handler system using whistles, squeaky toys and treats.
• Competitors represented every German region and included two entrants from Austria.
• Organizers will hold ceremonies to honor winners and participants as they conclude the inaugural national event.
