Overview
- Applications are submitted free of charge via the Portal Único (acessounico.mec.gov.br/fies) using a Gov.br login, with up to three course options ranked by preference.
- Eligibility requires Enem from 2010 onward, an average score of at least 450 on the four tests, a non-zero essay, and per-person family income between one and three minimum wages.
- For this semester, MEC offers 67,301 financed places across 1,421 institutions covering 19,834 courses or course shifts.
- Half of all places are reserved for Fies Social, which can finance up to 100% for students in CadÚnico with per-person income up to half a minimum wage.
- Fies provides a repayable student loan with installments tied to income after graduation, and applicants with outstanding Fies debts cannot register.
