Post positions are set for a full 18 at Kyoto on Nov. 23.
Overview
- The Mile Championship (G1, 1600m turf) will be run Nov. 23 at Kyoto after the Nov. 21 draw finalized the 18-horse lineup.
- Spring mile champion Jantar Mantar, winner of June's Yasuda Kinen and a three-time G1 miler at age four, drew post 15.
- Defending titleholder Soul Rush, a seven-year-old who won the Dubai Turf before returning from a fracture to place third in the Fuji Stakes, starts from post 17.
- Gaia Force beat both headliners in a prep and returns from gate 6 with a forward style and a strong late kick in pursuit of a first G1.
- Additional threats include Victoria Mile winner Ascoli Piceno (post 5), last year's runner-up Elton Barrows and third-place finisher Win Marvel with pace credentials, and Swan Stakes victor Off Trail as a possible upset.
