FHP Trooper Craig Gaines Dies After Sideline Injury at FAMU–FAU Game, Officials Say

  • The Fraternal Order of Police and Florida Highway Patrol said his death resulted from medical complications related to the leg injury.
  • FAU Athletics and members of the FAMU program shared condolences and tributes, and his funeral was held Sept. 29 with a livestream for those unable to attend.
