Overview
- London Liverpool Street’s concourse will be closed December 25 to January 1 for Bishopsgate tunnel strengthening and roof works, with Greater Anglia services diverted to Stratford and c2c trains routed to Fenchurch Street.
- The London Overground Mildmay line will be suspended between Gospel Oak and Richmond/Shepherd’s Bush from December 25 to January 4 for switch and crossing renewals at Kensal Green, with a Clapham Junction–Shepherd’s Bush shuttle and services continuing between Stratford and Gospel Oak/Willesden Junction.
- Cambridge area signalling renewal runs from Christmas Day for up to 11 days, introducing a new digital workstation and triggering bus replacements on sections including Royston–Cambridge and Ely–Stansted Airport on specified dates.
- West Coast Main Line upgrades between December 24 and January 15 will close significant sections for 22 days as part of a £196m programme, including works at Hanslope, Preston, Kingmoor and Penrith with replacement buses where no rail alternatives exist.
- Upgrades between Queenstown Road and Nine Elms will alter services on the Waterloo corridor for about a week, with station changes at Vauxhall and Queenstown Road and around 350 engineers deployed.
