Ferrari Unveils Elettrica EV Tech and Trims 2030 EV Target as Shares Fall

Investors sold the stock after Ferrari cut its 2030 fully electric mix to 20%, signaling a slower, margin-focused electrification path.

Overview

  • At its Capital Markets Day, Ferrari disclosed production-ready specs for its first EV, a four-seat model dubbed Elettrica with over 1,000 hp, 0–100 km/h in 2.5 seconds and a claimed range above 530 km.
  • The platform uses an in-house 122 kWh, 800-volt battery supporting up to 350 kW DC fast charging and feeds quad motors arranged as two e-axles for precise torque vectoring.
  • Ferrari’s sound strategy amplifies real drivetrain vibrations via sensors and a tuned amplifier, paired with paddle-operated ‘Torque Shift’ modes that modulate power delivery and regenerative braking.
  • The aluminum-intensive chassis targets a low center of gravity and rear-biased dynamics, with active suspension, rear-wheel steering and an estimated weight around 2,300 kg.
  • The company plans a public reveal in early 2026 with deliveries starting late 2026, as it revises its 2030 lineup mix to 40% ICE, 40% hybrid and 20% BEV, a shift that saw Milan-listed shares drop as much as about 13%.
