Ferrari Boss Rebukes Hamilton and Leclerc; Drivers Pledge Unity After Brazil Double DNF

The public dressing-down followed a double non-finish that dropped Ferrari to fourth, extending a winless season.

Overview

  • Lewis Hamilton vowed on social media to keep fighting, writing, "I back my team. I back myself. I will not give up," while Charles Leclerc said "only unity can help us" over the final three races.
  • John Elkann praised Ferrari’s mechanics and engineers, said the car has improved, and declared that "the rest" was not up to par as he urged the drivers to "talk less."
  • Team principal Fred Vasseur called the Interlagos result "a disgrace" and criticised Hamilton’s two collisions for costing performance early in the race.
  • The Brazil no-score left Ferrari 36 points behind Mercedes and six behind Red Bull in the fight for second in the constructors’ standings with Las Vegas up next.
  • Leclerc was eliminated by a chain reaction after Oscar Piastri and Kimi Antonelli made contact at the restart, while Hamilton retired after damage from tagging Franco Colapinto; Hamilton still has no grand prix podium this season.
